Valentine's day....a day for you to declare your love, a day to for you to spend quality time withyour significant other, a day to romance like you've never romanced before...or isit?

Truth is...Valentine's Day is nothing more than an over-commercialised day aimed at significantly increasing the profits of gift-makers, card-makers, florists and restaurants worldwide. Those who spend the entire year fantasizing about this day will be devastated to know that this is the 'sad' reality of Valentine's Day. I'm not a bitter, desperate singleton out to destroy every loving couple's v-day ( though I haf every right to! seeing as how v-day is aimed at victimising singletons everywhere....lol!) I can vaguely remember having a convo with my college mates n we agreed tht V-day should be abolished! haha!! *lol*

But don't get me wrong, I really haf nothing against it....the concept behind a day where you show your affections to your loved ones is really quite sweet. In the busy world that we live in, it's great to haf a day where we drop our hectic schedules and stop to appreciate the people that mean the most to us. Prob is...y be told when to do this? Y be obliged to buy overpriced gifts to your significant other? I think if i were in a relationship, the lil things my bf would do every once in a while would mean so much more than to lavish me with extra expensive roses on a single day without any display of affection all yr round! ( but then again things mb diff when ur in a relationship..i wouldn't noe..teehee)

I think that being single doesn't necessarily put u at a disadvantage on this day..heck we can find our own way of enjoying ourselves!!! Y be oppresed singletons? Show them dat being single can be just as fun!!!

Hence, here lies my *humble* list of the Female Singleton's 10 diff ways to spend V-day =D :

1. For the partaying singleton: Round up your single friends for dinner & drinks! V-day isn't just for couples you noe...

2. For the animal lover: Cuddle ur pet and rd '101 reasons why Cats ( or wtv animal u luv) are better than men' ( available in Kinokuniya) .

3. For the BJD in u : Haf a tub of ' Ben & Jerry's', while reading self-help books and singing along to "All By Myself".

4. For the 'recent singles': Round up ur girlfirends for a sleepover and haf an all out 'biatching-abt-men' session...

5. For the romantic singleton: Spend first half of your day on sum ' Harlequin Mills & Boons', then move on to ur collection of romantic movies, finish off with BBC's Pride & Prejudice and sleep with sweet dreams of Darcy to some love songs....

6.For the 'family' singleton: Dinner or a movie with the entire famille jus to show you care...along the way think abt how spending it with family means so much more than spending it with one person.

7. For the career singleton: You've worked hard to earn the money, so...go on a SHOPPING SPREE n Spend Spend Spend!!!!!!!

8. For the ' friendly' singleton: Friends mean the world to u. What better way then to spend such a special day with them.

9. For the happy singleton: Use this day to remind urself how lucky u are to be single!!! U can take a few moments to laugh at the 'unfortunate attached'.

10. For the flirtatous singleton: There's nothing more you love than to be a singleton, since if gives u full flirting rights. Wat better day to spend v-day den to utilise ur attractiveness to the max? *wink*
